2007 Training Guide
Furthering Girl Scouts' tradition of leadership
"My purpose . . . to go on with my heart and soul, devoting all my energies to Girl Scouts, and heart and hand with them, we will make our lives and the lives of the future girls happy, healthy and holy."
Juliette Gordon Low, founder of Girl Scouts

In the course of Girl Scouts' 95-year history, adult Volunteers have succeeded in putting so many girls on the path to success because they have had access to a comprehensive training program that gives them the knowledge and tools they need to carry out the Girl Scout program.

With that tradition in mind, we are excited to present the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland's 2007 Training Guide that contains an extensive list of training opportunities that will benefit both new and experienced adult Volunteers.

We value the time you are willing to invest in Girl Scouts. For that reason, volunteers will find a wide array of training classes that are accessible from all regions of the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. They are versatile and adaptable to almost any schedule. Many of the trainings are essential to the Girl Scout leader position and will ensure that girls in troops will not only learn, lead and participate safely, but will also make lasting friendships and gain the ultimate Girl S out experience.

In this Training Guide, you will find:
. A region-by-region listing of available training courses. Adults who wish to attend a class should register with the region that is offering that particular session. Reservation information is listed at the beginning of each region's section.
. A Training Reservation Card. This card can be found at the end of the course listings, and it can he used for all regions. It is suggested that copies be made so there is always a blank form available. Girl Scouts of Bluestem Council has its own reservation form that can be found within its section.
. A calendar of events that lists all girl-centered activities that were published in the 2007 Activity Guide and adult training classes offered from August 2007 to August 2008.
. A complete list of properties in each region that can be used by Girl Scout troops.

Training is a fun and rewarding way to kick off your volunteer experience with the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. We look forward to working with our volunteers to continue the tradition of excellence in Girl Scouting.
