Regional Meeting Schedule
During these meetings, attendees will learn more about the election process, go over the position description for a council delegate and discuss the Annual Meeting on May 3. All they have to do is e-mail their name to delegate@kansasgirlscouts.org. All council delegates, however, will be required to attend the Annual Meeting on May 3.

Council delegate selection process
Volunteers who would like to be council delegates may nominate themselves. Legacy councils used a variety of ways to nominate delegates. Again, time constraints make this the best option. If a potential delegate cannot attend the regional meeting she/he may submit her/his name prior to the meeting to delegate@kansasgirlscouts.org specifying which region she/he represents.

Each region needs to elect or appoint 20 delegates. We will also try to identify five alternates in each region. If we have more than 20 people who want to be delegates, we will vote at each regional meeting. If we have fewer than 20, the staff and Board members in that region will recruit additional people to fill the slots. Council delegates will be asked to attend the annual meeting on May 3. Alternates may also attend the annual meeting but are not required to unless they have been asked to fill in for a delegate who is unable to attend. We are trying to secure a location that is centrally located for the annual meeting; it will not be in Wichita .

All of the delegates must be chosen in time to get information to them prior to April 3 (our bylaws require that we send the information to be discussed 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting), which is why the turn-around has to be so tight.

National delegate selection
The Nominating Committee is currently working to identify candidates to serve as national delegates. They will prepare a slate for the council delegates to vote on at the annual meeting.

Also, we are working with the Nominating Committee to identify potential national delegates and Board members. Please submit the names of anyone you think would be a good Board member or national delegate immediately for consideration by the committee. And remember - they are just potential delegates or Board members. They need to be selected by the Nominating Committee and elected by the membership. Please be careful not to promise anyone a spot on the Board or a position as a national delegate.
