Girl Scouts make it happen! Girl Scouts have heart! Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland are gearing up for a new year with extended boundaries and added opportunities.
Girl Scouts in Kansas who are looking for a particular kind of adventure, a weekend trip or an opportunity to work on a Girl Scout award have excellent chances at fulfilling their dreams now that they have even more places to go, things to do and people to meet. The Activity Guide for the NEW Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland encompasses programs and activities offered in six regions (formerly known as councils) in 2007 and 2008 within our expanded jurisdiction.
Our new regions that cover 80 Kansas counties are: Central Kansas (Salina), Flint Hills (Emporia), Golden Plains (Wichita), Sunflower (Hays), Tumbleweed (Garden City) and Wheatbelt (Hutchinson). We are also pleased to include programs offered by the Girl Scouts of Bluestem Council in Oklahoma , whose Kansas counties will be joining us in 2008.
When you look over the activity guide, please remember:
. Girl Scouts who find a program or activity they wish to participate in must register with the region that is offering that particular program or activity. Reservation information is listed at the beginning of each region's section.
. Troops and individual Girl Scouts now have the opportunity to travel freely within our new jurisdiction. that means no more out-of-council trip forms to fill out!
. The Council Event Reservation Form can be used for all regions. Girl Scouts of Bluestem Council has its own reservation form.
So, what are you waiting for? Start making your plans to take full advantage of the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland's extended map of opportunities. Girls and adults alike will make new friends to last a lifetime, find out more about our state and expand their horizons while enjoying the hospitality of our sister Girl Scouts both near and far!
